‘Beat the Pack’ blood drive sets 500-unit goal

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to show their Tar Heel spirit with a blood donation during the “Beat the Pack” drive Friday (Oct. 26), the eve of the football game against rival North Carolina State University.

Organizers have set a goal of 500 units for the drive being held 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Student Union Great Hall and Rams Head Recreation Center at the UNC-Chapel Hill.

Donors should make appointments online with the sponsor code “unc.”

Get details of donor eligibility and information on donating double red cells. Those who can’t donate but can help in other ways should email studentlife.unc.edu to volunteer.

Each donor will receive a gift, and student organizations with the most members or the highest percentage of members donating will receive a special prize.
