Women’s lacrosse wins NCAA title!

Sammy Jo Tracy scored in the third sudden-death overtime period to give the Tar Heels a 13-12 over win top-seeded Maryland in the NCAA women’s lacrosse championship in Villanova, Pennsylvania.  The win gives UNC its first NCAA title in women’s lacrosse in the team’s second title-game appearance.

Brittney Coppa assisted on the goal.

Carolina ends the season at 18-3, a team record for wins in a season.
