A pop-up serenity space is now open for Carolina students to use to relax and recharge as the end of the fall 2024 semester approaches, bringing stressors like finals.

The space is in the Class of 2000 lounge on the third floor of the Frank Porter Graham Student Union. It features both high- and low-sensory areas, equipped with different features.

  • Yoga zone: blankets, yoga mats and instructions for basic yoga poses
  • Low-sensory zone: ambient noise, space to relax and meditate and lower lighting
  • High-sensory zone: brighter lights, ambient noise, fidget spinners, comfortable seating
  • Activity zone: Play-Doh, puzzles, coloring books and more

The pop-up serenity space launched with support from Undergraduate Student Government, Graduate and Professional Student Government, Student Affairs and Counseling and Psychological Services.
