Students, faculty and staff,

International soccer teams Manchester City and Celtic FC will be in Chapel Hill the evening of Tuesday, July 23, to play a game in Kenan Stadium as part of the 2024 FC Series. This will be the second-ever international match at Kenan Stadium.

We expect this game to draw a large crowd, causing a significant increase in traffic volume and drive times in the town and region, as well as limited parking on and around campus. Please be aware of this event if you plan to drive to, from or through campus and the surrounding area on July 23. Traffic on campus is expected to be heavy leading up to and after the game from 4-8 p.m. and 10-11:30 p.m.

This event itself does not cause a change to work or class schedules on campus. Employees and/or students are encouraged to speak with their supervisors or professors if they have concerns about how this event will impact their work/class schedules or locations.

Regular daytime parking operations will be in effect on July 23. Be aware that parking lots across campus are reserved for event parking beginning at 5 p.m. Employees who need to report to work after 5 p.m. should park in designated employee game day lots. For more parking information, visit the Transportation and Parking event page.
